Guntur Art Center

Guntur district has had a distinct place in arts and culturas scene of Andhra Pradesh.

In the fields of Education, Agriculture and Commerce Guntur and other cities of Guntur Dist. have come a long way in developmental activities in many a field.

In the field of artistic granduer, Guntur Dist. plays a significent role. To mention one such is Amaravathi, with it's Buddhistic establishments of 3rd. century BC. glorifies our place in history.

Amaravathi Utsav in 2002 and Kalachakra in 2007 are two important happenings which placed Guntur dist. as a pioneer in organising such cultural events.

These two events rejuvenated the spirits of some enthusiastic philanthropists of Guntur dist. to create an Art Center in Guntur city, where Performing Arts and Visual Arts enthusiasts along with veterans will be given equal chance to express themselves in exhibiting their talents.

In its part, the administration of Guntur, in appreciation and support of this noble Idea, allotted a piece of land, in the premises of Officer's Club
Opp. Collectorate for the construction of a building where the above idealogical activities can take place.

Now it is our duty to materilize that noble objective of the construction of the Building and maintain it according to the ideological purpose for which it was intended.

It is our desire to culminate all cultural and artistic activities under one roof in Guntur. so that this district again retains it's pioneering spirit in paving path for other districts to follow suit. This art center will become a testimony in reflecting the cultural outlook of the residents of this district, which may be recognised as Pride of Andhra Pradesh in the world cultural scene.
